Rotary Dryer
 
The rotary dryer is a type of industrial dryer employed to reduce or minimize the liquid moisture content of the material by bringing it in direct contact with a heated gas.The dryer is made up of large rotating cylinder which slopes slightly so that the discharged end is lower than the material feed end in order to convey the material under gravity. Material to be dried enters the dryer and as the dryer rotates,the material is lifted up by a series of internal fins lining the inner wall of the dryer.When materials fall back to the bottom,it passes through the hot gas stream.In the experiment , the gas stream moves towards the feed end from the discharge end (counter current flow).Also the material passes through the length of the dryer at nearly the wet - bulb temperature.

Bentonite Processing Plant:-
A method for producing bleaching earth from clay which comprises selecting a naturally-occurring acidic mixture of palygorskite and bentonite clays, mixing said selected clay mixture with an acid solution in amount corresponding to an acid dosage in the range of 1 to 10% by weight, reacting said clay with said acid and, without washing the resulting reaction product with water, recovering it for use as a bleaching earth.

AMMONIUM BICARBONATE DRYER:-

Wetted ammonium bicarbonate can be decomposed at ambient temperatures, causing loss in production. Results of drying experiments show that as ammonium bicarbonate is quite sensitive to heat the traditional hot air drying method causes product loss and is not suitable for dissemination. A comparison between different drying methods such as oven drying, chemical drying and static water absorption is made. It is also pointed out that the treatment of ammonium bicarbonate with chemical drying method is suitable to spread in commercial production.
