An Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) is a highly efficient drying system used for converting liquid or slurry into dry powder or flakes by spreading the feed material as a thin film on a heated surface while being agitated by a rotor. Working Principle of ATFD
Feed Introduction: The liquid or slurry is fed into the ATFD at the top.
Thin Film Formation: The material spreads into a thin film on the heated cylindrical surface.
Agitation: A rotating blade assembly continuously scrapes the film to ensure uniform drying and prevent buildup.
Evaporation: The heat causes the solvent or moisture to evaporate rapidly.
Dry Product Collection: The dried material is collected at the bottom in powder or flake form.
Vapor Recovery: The evaporated moisture is collected through a condenser or vacuum system.
